JGO welcomes outdoor enthusiasts of all levels of experience – adults and youngsters alike. Whether you are a birdwatcher, salamander chaser, wildflower enthusiast, photographer, or just want to hike to see some beautiful sights, JGO can plan a guided tour for you. The Southern Appalachians have much to offer and we are excited about helping you experience the many wonders of this special and unique region. Perhaps you want to see one of the spectacular waterfalls in the Smokies, search for some salamanders, or walk amongst the stately giants of an old growth forest. You may prefer a visit to a grassy bald, a phenomenon exclusive to the Southern Appalachians, where you can learn about these interesting ecosystems while you gaze upon mountain views. All you need to do is tell us what you hope to see, and we will choose the trails to take you there. Whether you visit the Smokies in the spring, summer, fall or winter, many new discoveries and pleasant experiences await your arrival. Join Liz on a day hike or ramble along one of the many trails. Together you can search for spring wildflowers, animal tracks in a fresh snowfall, vibrant fall colors, or a waterfall where you can take a cool, refreshing dip on a warm summer’s day.
